Responsibilities

Noblis MSD's mission is to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCPD) and their missions' to enable research, development, test and evaluation, acquisition, engineering, systems integration, in-service and fleet engineering with cybersecurity, comprehensive logistics, and life-cycle savings. We are looking to hire a Submarine Systems Quality Assurance Specialist to provide support to varies Submarine Classes for the US Navy.

This position is for a Machinery Controls System Engineer . The main function of the candidate will be to provide lifecycle support of fielded Machinery Control Systems (MCS) on the USS ARLEIGH BURKE class of destroyer. This includes shipboard support as well as Land Based Engineering Site (LBES) support. The USS ARLEIGH BURKE MCS is comprised of four (4) different variants spanning various technologies.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
    \n
  • Lifecycle support of the supervisory machinery control system which includes, but is not limited to:
  • \n
  • Troubleshooting complex problems of all variants of fielded systems (microprocessor based control systems) both at LBES and shipboard
  • \n
  • Review of technical documentation related to all variants of fielded systems and future fielded systems
  • \n
  • Provide test support for all variants of fielded systems at LBES
  • \n
  • Provide shipboard SW & HW installation support of all variants of fielded systems at LBES
  • \n
  • Provide technical input to the design of future MCS systems
  • \n
  • Develop test procedures to exercise requirements of fielded systems and future fielded systems
  • \n
  • Provide design support for integration of equipment in an industrial/shipboard environment
  • \n
Required Qualifications

    \n
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering preferred, other degrees will be considered based on experience and must have 3+ years of experience in electrical engineering, systems engineer or computer engineering as it pertains to control systems in an industrial environment
  • \n
  • Proficiency in reading electrical diagrams or schematics
  • \n
  • Proficiency in the use of test tools associated with industrial control systems
  • \n
  • Us Citizen with a DoD Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one
  • \n
  • Ability to acquire a U.S. Passport or currently have one
  • \n
  • Travel up to 20%

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift and carry (with assistance) up to 50 pounds

  • Access and maintain equipment located in confined spaces
  • \n
  • Ascend/descend ramps/ladders/stairs and work comfortably at varying heights

  • Reach overhead to handle, install, position and move materials

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks while crouching, stooping and kneeling
  • \n
  • Work in environments with temperature fluctuations, including both hot and cold conditions
  • \n
  • Sustain physical activity for extended periods, as well as maintaining balance
  • \n
  • See details at close range, at a distance and from side to side

  • Detect alarms and respond to auditory signals effectively is requirement

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis' total compensation package.

USD $78,900.00 - USD $123,300.00 /Yr.
