Payment Posting Specialist - Medical Billing

Location: Northbrook, IL (Onsite; remote work not an option)

Schedule: Full-time

Compensation: $25$30/hr (based on experience and qualifications)

Base pay range: $52,000 $62,000 per year.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Payment Posting Specialist to join our Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) team in Northbrook, IL. The specialist will accurately post payments, denials, adjustments, and rejections to patient accounts, ensuring correct and timely account balances.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately post payments, denials, and adjustments to patient accounts from various payers (insurance, government, self?pay).
• Ensure all payments and adjustments are posted in a timely manner to maintain accurate account balances.
• Reconcile payment discrepancies and resolve issues by working with insurance carriers, patients, and internal departments.
• Review and resolve remittance advice (ERA) and Explanation of Benefits (EOB) documents.
• Assist in managing the collections process for unpaid claims and collaborate with other departments to resolve outstanding balances.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory and company policies.
• Support the team in identifying trends, denials, and payment issues, and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Must be able to work full?time onsite at our Northbrook corporate office.
• 3+ years of experience in payment posting, revenue cycle management, or medical billing in a primary care, physicians office, or hospital setting.
• Multi?site clinical experience preferred.
• Familiarity with ICD?10, CPT codes, denial codes, and HIPAA regulations.
• Proficient in billing software, Microsoft Excel, and other office applications.
